Course Description
This course examines the scientific and practical foundations of water resources management, with a focus on integrated approaches to sustainable water use. Students study the water cycle, regional distribution of water resources, their socio-economic significance, and principles of efficient and equitable water allocation. Key topics include integrated water management strategies for domestic, agricultural, and industrial water supply; protection of aquatic ecosystems; regional and transboundary cooperation models; and the role of water management in reducing the impacts of natural hazards. The course also addresses disaster-related risks associated with floods, landslides, seismic activity, volcanic processes, and climate change. The course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to apply integrated water resources management principles, assess disaster risks, and contribute to sustainable development and risk reduction strategies in environmental and educational contexts.
