Course Description
This course teaches the role and significance of information systems in modern logistics and supply chain management. It covers the classification and architecture of key systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and Customer Relationship Management (CRM). The curriculum focuses on data capture and exchange technologies (e.g., EDI, RFID, Barcoding), Big Data analytics, and the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for route optimization. It also examines the role of cloud computing and internet-of-things (IoT) in real-time tracking and decision support. Furthermore, it studies the processes of information flow organization, data security, and system integration across the entire logistics network. The course develops students' abilities to analyze, design, and implement information technologies to optimize logistical processes and enhance strategic planning.
