Course Description
This course explores the principles and practices of protecting information and information systems from unauthorized access, disclosure, and modification. The curriculum focuses on the "CIA Triad" (Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability) and the methods used to mitigate cybersecurity threats. Students study encryption algorithms, network security protocols, firewall configurations, and identity management. The course emphasizes risk assessment, vulnerability scanning, and the human factors in security, such as social engineering and policy development. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of implementing robust defense mechanisms, conducting security audits, and designing resilient system architectures that protect sensitive data against evolving cyber threats in both industrial and enterprise environments.
