Course Description
This course provides an in-depth exploration of the design, programming, and application of robotic systems in manufacturing environments. The curriculum focuses on robot kinematics, dynamics, and the geometry of robotic manipulators, including Cartesian, SCARA, and articulated configurations. Students study end-effectors, vision systems, and the integration of sensors for spatial awareness and precision. The course emphasizes robot programming languages, safety standards, and the implementation of automated workcells for tasks such as welding, painting, and material handling. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of modeling robotic motions, optimizing path planning, and managing the transition toward Industry 4.0 through advanced robotic automation and human-robot collaboration.
