Course Description
This course explores the occurrence, distribution, and movement of water across the Earth's surface and subsurface. The curriculum focuses on the hydrologic cycle, including precipitation, evaporation, infiltration, and runoff processes. Students learn to analyze hydrographs, estimate peak discharge using the Rational Method, and study groundwater flow dynamics. The course emphasizes the application of statistical methods for flood frequency analysis and the management of water resources. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of predicting water behavior in watersheds, which is essential for designing dams, drainage systems, and sustainable flood control infrastructure.
