Course Description
This course is aimed at the systematic study of the developmental trajectory of world art from ancient times to the contemporary period. Throughout the course, examples of architecture, fine arts, and decorative and applied arts from various historical eras are examined in terms of style, form, and content.
Within the framework of the course, fundamental knowledge is provided on the art of the Ancient East and Classical Antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, Baroque, Classicism, Romanticism, Realism, Modernism, and contemporary art movements.
The course seeks to develop students’ ability to analyze works of art within their historical and cultural contexts, to distinguish stylistic characteristics, and to form a broad intellectual perspective on visual culture.
