Course Description
This course provides an overview of the origins, development, and core beliefs of major world religions. Students study ancient religious traditions, the emergence of monotheistic faiths, and the historical spread of Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The course also explores the cultural, social, and political influence of religious movements, as well as interactions among different belief systems across time. Through comparative analysis, students learn to recognize common themes, understand doctrinal differences, and evaluate the historical role of religion in shaping civilizations and contemporary societies.
