Course Description
This course provides students with systematic scientific knowledge about the formation, development, and evolution of Azerbaijani musical culture and develops their ability to deeply understand the historical-cultural foundations of national musical traditions. Students gain information on ancient and medieval musical heritage, the contributions of prominent scholars and musicologists, and the court and folk music culture. The course covers the development of Azerbaijani professional music, the history of mugham art, folk music genres and forms, stages of national composers' creativity, and directions of musical education.
