Course Description
This block introduces the mechanisms of disease, focusing on pathological changes at cellular and tissue levels, and on the basic principles of infection, inflammation, immune responses, and neoplastic processes. It explains the transition from health to disease on a scientific basis, while fostering skills in laboratory analysis, clinical observation, and evidence-based decision-making. Primary care and community-oriented strategies for the prevention and management of disease are emphasized. The block integrates knowledge and skills from Pathology, Medical Microbiology and Immunology, Medical Biochemistry, Hematology, Public Health, and Normal Physiology.
