Course Description
This course teaches the fundamental concepts of global transport strategies and their role in international trade and economic development. It covers the analysis of macroeconomic and geopolitical factors influencing global freight and passenger mobility. The curriculum focuses on developing and evaluating strategic choices for transport network expansion, investment planning in mega-projects (e.g., ports, high-speed rail), and the implementation of multinational transport agreements and policies. It examines strategies related to sustainability, decarbonization, and resilience in the global transport sector. Furthermore, it studies the role of international organizations (e.g., IMO, IATA), the impact of digital transformation, and the necessity of public-private partnerships in executing global transport agendas. The course develops students' abilities to analyze global trends, formulate long-term transport strategies, and make complex decisions regarding international logistics infrastructure and policy.
