Course Description
This course teaches the principles of spatial analysis and the geographical factors influencing the design, organization, and distribution of transport networks. It covers the classification of transport systems (e.g., land, water, air) and their interconnectedness at different scales. The curriculum focuses on the modeling and analysis of regional and global freight/passenger flows, examining the spatial interaction between supply and demand nodes. It addresses the concept of transport corridors, accessibility, and connectivity as key drivers of economic geography. Furthermore, it studies the geopolitical and environmental impact of transport infrastructure development, including the issues of sustainable transport and regional planning. The course develops students' abilities to analyze and optimize the geographical location and structure of transport systems for efficiency and regional development.
