The Gaval Performance course is focused on mastering the performance techniques of the gaval, which is one of the principal components of rhythmic accompaniment in mugham performance (khananda singing). Within the framework of the course, students acquire practical skills such as correct holding techniques of the gaval, striking and rhythmic techniques, rhythmic improvisation, performance of mugham rhythmic patterns (usuls), and the ability to construct accompaniment that aligns with the vocal line during performance.
