Course Description
This course offers a deep and systematic introduction to politics as a complex field shaping social order and governance. Students examine the place of the individual within political relations and the interaction of ideological, institutional and cultural factors that structure political life. The course traces the emergence and development of political science, its core theoretical traditions and contemporary approaches, treating politics as an object of scientific reasoning and critical analysis. It goes beyond describing state structures by exploring how power, legitimacy, freedom, and justice are understood and applied across different historical and cultural contexts. Students also study political institutions, decision-making mechanisms, interest groups, and social movements while developing a critical perspective on democratic governance, political participation, and civic responsibility, learning to evaluate political realities analytically, understand the internal logic of political systems and ideas, and assess them within a global context.
