Course Description
This course covers the kinematic equations of a material point, laws of motion dynamics, conservation laws of momentum and energy, Universal Law of Gravitation and Hooke's Law. It introduces hydrodynamics, thermodynamics, and molecular kinetic theory, electrostatics, conductors and insulators, alternating current circuits, the magnetic field and magnetic effect on a moving charge, electromagnetic induction, Maxwell's equations, electromagnetic waves and laws of optics. Furthermore, the curriculum includes Planck's theory, the photoelectric effect and photon properties, atomic and nuclear models, wave-particle duality, De Broglie waves, Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, quantum mechanics, and the special theory of relativity. The course develops students' abilities to understand, analyze, and apply physical processes.
