Course Description
This course introduces the computational techniques used to analyze, understand, and generate human language. The curriculum focuses on text preprocessing, including tokenization, stemming, and lemmatization, alongside linguistic features like Part-of-Speech tagging. Students investigate word embeddings, such as Word2Vec, and the fundamentals of sequence-to-sequence models for translation. The course emphasizes sentiment analysis, named entity recognition (NER), and the basics of transformer architectures. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of building applications for automated text classification and chatbots, providing essential skills for AI-driven communication systems and large-scale textual data mining.
