[IR310 ] Foreign Policy Analysis
Instruction Language
English
Course Description
This course examines how foreign policy is formed, how decisions are made and implemented and which factors shape foreign policy behaviour. Students study the stages of decision-making and analyze how institutional and political contexts differ across states, as well as the methods used to forecast foreign policy directions. The course also introduces leading international centres that analyze foreign policy, including think tanks, and trains students to process information and facts on a scholarly basis. Through comparative analysis of different states’ foreign policy courses and through real examples, students develop the ability to interpret decision-making processes, evaluate strategic directions and build a professional skill set that combines theory with applied analysis.
