Course Type
Elective - Block 4
Course Description
This course explores the behavior of liquids and gases at rest and in motion. The curriculum covers fluid properties, hydrostatics, and the fundamental governing equations of fluid flow, including the Continuity, Momentum, and Bernoulli equations. Students study internal flows in pipes, external flows over submerged bodies, and the concepts of viscosity, lift, and drag. The course emphasizes dimensional analysis and the distinction between laminar and turbulent flow. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of analyzing pressure distributions and flow velocities, providing the essential foundation for designing hydraulic systems, aerodynamics, and water transport infrastructure.
