Course Description
This course focuses on the mathematical formulation and solution of partial differential equations (PDEs) that describe physical phenomena such as heat transfer, wave propagation, and fluid flow. The curriculum covers the classification of second-order PDEs into elliptic, parabolic, and hyperbolic types. Students explore powerful analytical methods, including the separation of variables, Green's functions, and integral transforms. The course emphasizes the rigorous treatment of boundary and initial value problems and the concept of well-posedness. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of modeling complex physical systems and deriving analytical solutions for steady-state and time-dependent processes, providing the essential theoretical framework required for advanced structural analysis, electromagnetics, and fluid dynamics.
