Course Description
This course introduces the fundamental principles of statics and dynamics essential for engineering design. The curriculum covers the analysis of forces, moments, and equilibrium in particles and rigid bodies. Students explore the behavior of structures under various loads, including trusses, frames, and beams, alongside the study of friction, centroids, and moments of inertia. The dynamics component addresses kinematics and kinetics of particles, focusing on work, energy, and momentum. By the end of the semester, students will be able to apply mathematical models to predict the physical behavior of mechanical systems and structural components.
