Course Description
This course introduces the fundamental principles of electronic devices and their applications in circuit design. The curriculum focuses on the operational characteristics of diodes, bipolar junction transistors (BJTs), and field-effect transistors (FETs). Students learn to analyze and design basic electronic configurations, including rectifiers, clipping and clamping circuits, and various transistor biasing arrangements. The course also covers small-signal analysis and the design of single-stage amplifiers, emphasizing gain, input/output impedance, and frequency response. Through hands-on laboratory sessions, students gain experience in assembling physical circuits and using diagnostic tools like oscilloscopes to verify theoretical models. This foundational knowledge is essential for understanding more complex analog and digital systems, providing the critical skills needed for hardware development and electronic system troubleshooting in professional engineering environments.
