Course Description
This course focuses on the principles of electromechanical energy conversion and the operational characteristics of various electric machines. The curriculum covers the construction, theory, and performance analysis of transformers, direct current (DC) motors and generators, and alternating current (AC) machines, including induction and synchronous motors. Students explore magnetic circuit theory, torque-speed characteristics, and efficiency calculations for industrial motor drives. The course emphasizes control techniques, starting methods, and the application of these machines in renewable energy and automation. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of selecting and analyzing appropriate electrical machines for specific industrial applications, ensuring optimal energy performance and mechanical reliability.
