Course Description
This course examines the spatial patterns of economic activity and the political–geographical organization of countries around the world. The economic geography component explores the distribution of economic activities, principles of industrial and service-sector location, agricultural and industrial regions, international trade, and processes of global economic integration.
The political geography component focuses on territorial organization of states, borders and geopolitical relations, regional conflicts, and the role of international organizations in global politics. Students analyze the interaction between economic and political processes, assess regional and national development dynamics, and interpret economic and political changes using maps and spatial analysis. Designed for future geography teachers, the course equips students with the knowledge and skills to teach economic and political topics effectively in the context of globalization.
