Course Description
This course explores the theoretical foundations and practical applications of manipulating digital signals and images. The curriculum focuses on discrete-time signals, Fourier transforms, digital filtering, and Z-transforms. Students study image enhancement, noise reduction, and edge detection techniques, along with data compression standards. The course emphasizes the use of software tools like MATLAB or Python to implement algorithms for audio and visual data analysis. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of designing digital filters and developing image processing pipelines, providing essential expertise for careers in medical imaging, telecommunications, autonomous systems, and multimedia technology.
