Course Description

This course introduces the fundamental concepts and algorithms for analyzing and manipulating digital images. The curriculum covers image acquisition, sampling, and quantization, alongside enhancement techniques in both spatial and frequency domains. Students explore image restoration, morphological operations, and segmentation methods to extract meaningful information. The course also emphasizes compression standards and basic pattern recognition. By the end of the semester, students will be proficient in using tools like MATLAB or Python to develop applications for medical imaging, satellite surveillance, and automated industrial inspection.
