Course Description
This course focuses on the methods for solving equations that involve derivatives and their applications in modeling physical phenomena. The curriculum covers first-order ordinary differential equations (ODEs), linear equations of higher order, and systems of differential equations. Students explore various solution techniques, including separation of variables, integrating factors, and the method of undetermined coefficients. The course emphasizes the use of Laplace transforms to solve initial value problems and introduces qualitative analysis through phase portraits and stability theory. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of formulating and solving mathematical models for vibrating systems, electrical circuits, and population dynamics, providing the essential analytical framework for advanced engineering and scientific research.
