Course Description
This course focuses on the analysis and design of complex civil engineering structures that go beyond standard buildings. The curriculum covers specialized facilities such as tall chimneys, storage silos, water tanks, retaining walls, and underground structures. Students study unique loading conditions, including thermal effects, dynamic pressures, and soil-structure interaction. The course emphasizes advanced structural modeling and the application of specific codes for non-standard geometries. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of designing durable and safe specialized structures, ensuring they withstand extreme operational and environmental demands in industrial and urban infrastructure.
