Course Description
This capstone course integrates principles from mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering to design complex, autonomous systems. The curriculum focuses on the complete design lifecycle, including requirements analysis, system architecture, and component integration. Students engage in hands-on projects, utilizing CAD for mechanical structures, PCB design for electronics, and embedded programming for control logic. The course emphasizes concurrent engineering, interface management, and the optimization of system-level performance. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of leading a multidisciplinary design process, managing technical tradeoffs, and delivering a functional robotic or mechatronic prototype that meets real-world operational constraints and safety standards.
