Course Description
This course explores the design, implementation, and management of structured data environments. The curriculum focuses on the relational model, entity-relationship (ER) modeling, and normalization to ensure data integrity. Students learn to use Structured Query Language (SQL) for complex data retrieval, updates, and transaction management. The course emphasizes indexing, query optimization, and the transition toward NoSQL systems for big data applications. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of architecting scalable databases and securing data access, providing the essential infrastructure required for software applications, business intelligence, and large-scale data analysis.
