Course Description
This course explores the specialized software and frameworks used to ingest, transform, and prepare data for large-scale analysis. The curriculum focuses on industry-standard tools such as Apache Spark, Kafka, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) platforms. Students investigate the use of Python libraries like Dask and Polars for high-performance manipulation, alongside workflow orchestration tools like Airflow. The course emphasizes data pipeline automation, error handling, and performance tuning for distributed datasets. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of building robust data processing architectures, providing the technical foundation required for data engineering, real-time analytics, and scalable machine learning operations.
