Course Description

This course introduces students to the history and craft of playwriting within Azerbaijani theatrical traditions. Students study the elements of dramatic structure, character development, monologue and dialogue construction, plot dynamics, and the evolution of Azerbaijani theatre.
Through workshop activities, scene readings, analysis of major Azerbaijani playwrights, and independent writing tasks, learners develop skills in creating original one-act and multi-act plays. The course nurtures dramatic imagination, critical analysis, and the ability to produce culturally informed dramatic texts suitable for educational or artistic settings.
