Course Description
This course introduces the techniques used to create abstract representations of real-world systems to predict their behavior and optimize performance. The curriculum covers discrete-event simulation, continuous modeling, and the mathematical foundations of system dynamics. Students explore various software tools to simulate physical, biological, or industrial processes and analyze the resulting data. The course emphasizes model validation, sensitivity analysis, and the visualization of complex phenomena. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of building reliable computational models that support scientific research and engineering design.
