Course Description

This course is aimed at studying the theoretical foundations of musical composition and developing students’ creative application skills. The instructional process focuses on fundamental principles such as thematic construction, motivic development, selection of harmonic language, application of formal models, textural organization, and timbral thinking.

Within the framework of the course, students acquire practical skills in creating compositional sketches for piano, chamber ensembles, and orchestra. They learn to structure musical material according to stylistic criteria, apply compositional techniques appropriate to different genres, and develop musical ideas through coherent compositional logic.

The course fosters creative musical thinking, the ability to justify compositional structure, transform musical ideas into notated form, and guide musical creativity within pedagogical practice.
