Course Description
Building on the principles of DC analysis, this course focuses on the advanced study of alternating current (AC) circuits and complex network systems. The curriculum covers sinusoidal steady-state analysis, phasor diagrams, and power calculations in single-phase and three-phase circuits. Students explore frequency response, resonance, and the design of passive filters, alongside magnetically coupled circuits and transformers. A significant portion of the course is dedicated to the application of Laplace transforms for analyzing transient responses in higher-order circuits and characterizing two-port networks. Through intensive laboratory sessions, students gain hands-on experience in measuring impedance, power factors, and frequency stability, providing them with the expertise required for power systems engineering and advanced signal conditioning.
