Course Description
This fundamental course introduces the basic concepts and laws governing electrical circuits, focusing primarily on DC circuit analysis. The curriculum covers Ohm’s Law, Kirchhoff’s Current and Voltage Laws, and various network theorems such as Thevenin’s, Norton’s, and the Superposition principle. Students learn to analyze resistive, capacitive, and inductive components, exploring their behavior in both steady-state and transient conditions. The course also introduces the nodal and mesh analysis techniques essential for solving complex networks. Through integrated laboratory sessions, students verify theoretical calculations with physical measurements using multimeters and oscilloscopes, developing the essential skills required to design, troubleshoot, and optimize basic electrical systems that form the foundation of all electronics.
