Course Description
This elective course explores the geographical, environmental, economic, and geopolitical significance of the Caspian Sea region. Students examine the physical characteristics of the Caspian Sea, its ecosystems and biodiversity, natural resources, and environmental challenges. The course also analyzes the economic use of the Caspian Sea, including energy resources, fisheries, transportation routes, and regional development. Special attention is given to geopolitical issues, regional cooperation, and environmental protection involving the Caspian littoral states. Designed for future educators, the course develops an integrated understanding of the Caspian Sea as a unique natural and strategic region and supports the application of this knowledge in teaching and research contexts.
