Course Description
This final course in the calculus sequence explores complex analysis and partial differential equations (PDEs) in depth. The curriculum covers the theory of functions of a complex variable, including analyticity, Cauchy-Riemann equations, and contour integration. Students study the separation of variables for PDEs, focusing on the wave, heat, and Laplace equations. The course emphasizes the application of Fourier and Z-transforms to solve discrete and continuous systems. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of handling multi-dimensional boundary value problems and complex mapping, providing the high-level analytical proficiency required for advanced research in signal processing, control theory, and theoretical physics.
