Course Description
This course introduces students to the fundamental principles of plant biology, focusing on the structure, development, and classification of lower plants, as well as the cellular organization and tissues of higher plants. Core topics include the morphology and anatomy of the main vegetative organs — roots, stems, and leaves — and the physiological processes essential for plant life, such as photosynthesis, respiration, and the transport of water and minerals. Students explore how plants adapt to environmental conditions and begin to understand the mechanisms underlying these adaptations. Through lectures and laboratory work, the course builds a foundational understanding of plant form and function, preparing students for advanced study and future pedagogical practice.
