Course Description
This course focuses on the application of control systems and information technologies to reduce the need for human intervention in industrial processes. The curriculum covers the architecture of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). Students study the automation of continuous and discrete processes, focusing on feedback loops, SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols. The course emphasizes the integration of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic components to maintain optimal production parameters. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of designing automated sequences, configuring HMI interfaces, and implementing safety-instrumented systems to enhance productivity, precision, and operational safety in large-scale industrial environments.
