Background

Kamran Karimov was born on May 31, 1976, in Baku, Azerbaijan.
He graduated from the Asaf Zeynalli Music College and later from the Baku Music Academy,
specializing in percussion instruments.
In 1998, he became a laureate of the Fikret Amirov Percussion Competition.
In 2017, he won the Grand Prix at the “Sharq Taronalari” International Music Festival in
Samarkand.
Since 1996, he has represented Azerbaijan in nearly 60 countries and more than 145 cities
worldwide.
He has performed at major international festivals, the European Games,
the Islamic Solidarity Games, and Formula 1 ceremonies.
He has collaborated with leading musicians in mugham, symphonic, and jazz genres.
In 2015, he was awarded the honorary title “Honored Artist of Azerbaijan.”
He currently works as a lecturer at the Faculty of Arts of Karabakh University.
