Elshan Mansurov
Background
Elshan Mansurov was born in 1962 in the Gusar region of Azerbaijan. He received his higher
musical education at the Uzeyir Hajibeyli State Conservatory and became the winner of the
First International Competition held in 1986.
Since 1990, he has been engaged in pedagogical activity and for many years worked as an
Associate Professor at the Azerbaijan National Conservatory. In 2007, he was awarded the
honorary title “Honored Artist,” and in 2020 he received the title “People’s Artist” of
Azerbaijan.
He has performed in numerous countries including Germany, France, Italy, the United
States, and many others, presenting Azerbaijani music in international concert programs.
He also served as a coordinator of the UNESCO and Heydar Aliyev Foundation project
“Eternal Mugham.”
He currently works as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts of Karabakh University.
