Course Description

This course examines the influence of art and culture on human health, illness and identity, building a bridge between medical science and the humanities. It develops professional skills in ethical decision-making, empathic communication within teams and the analysis of patient narratives. Through the study of artistic expression, music, literature and theatre, students analyse experiences of pain, hope and recovery and gain insight into the moral and cultural responsibilities of medical practice.
