Course Description
This course teaches students about the electrostatic field in matter, methods for calculating the electrostatic field, electrostatic induction, the electric field involving conductors and dielectrics, polarization, ferroelectric and piezoelectric materials, semiconductors, elements of the quantum theory of solids, the p-n junction, the internal photoelectric effect and the theory of solar panels. It covers the motion of charged particles in electromagnetic fields, methods for determining the specific charge, spectrometry and particle accelerators, the cyclotron and betatron, the wave equation, sound and electromagnetic waves, the Doppler effect, dipole radiation, and the operating principles of radio communication and radar.
The course develops students' abilities to understand, analyze, and apply physical processes.
