Course Description
This course bridges the gap between algebra and geometry by using coordinate systems to analyze geometric shapes and properties. The curriculum focuses on the study of vectors in two and three-dimensional spaces, lines, and planes. Students explore conic sections, including circles, ellipses, parabolas, and hyperbolas, as well as their general equations and transformations. The course emphasizes the use of matrix algebra to perform rotations, translations, and scaling in space. By the end of the semester, students will be capable of mathematically modeling physical objects and spatial relationships, providing the essential geometric foundations required for computer-aided design (CAD), robotics, and structural engineering analysis.
