Course Description

This course is aimed at the systematic and analytical study of musical works in terms of form, content, and means of expression. Throughout the instructional process, the principles of melodic development, harmonic language, rhythmic structure, texture, musical forms, and stylistic characteristics are examined through theoretical analysis and practical examples.

Within the course framework, structural and semantic analyses of musical works from different historical periods and stylistic movements are conducted. Methods of thematic development, cadential systems, musical syntax, and compositional logic are explained in detail.

The course contributes to the development of students’ abilities to accurately read and analyze musical texts, distinguish stylistic features, justify interpretative decisions, and apply analytical thinking skills in both musicological and performance-related activities.
