This course introduces students to the core principles of microeconomics and their relevance to social sciences and international affairs. Students study how individuals, households, and firms make decisions under conditions of scarcity and how markets function through supply, demand, and price mechanisms. The course examines consumer behaviour, production, competition, market structures, and market failures, providing analytical tools for understanding regulation, public policy, and economic decision-making. By developing economic reasoning skills, the course supports informed analysis of social and political processes influenced by economic incentives.
