Karabakh University Celebrates Novruz Holiday with Traditional Festivities and Concert Program in Khankendi
Karabakh University marked the arrival of spring with a vibrant celebration dedicated to Ilakhir Charshanba and the Novruz Holiday, featuring a festive gathering and cultural concert held on campus in Khankendi.
Opening the event, University Rector Shahin Bayramov spoke about the deep symbolic significance of celebrating this cherished national holiday in Khankendi. He emphasized that the opportunity to mark Novruz in this city is a proud outcome of the Azerbaijani people’s resilience, President Ilham Aliyev’s strong political will, and the valor of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. Rector Bayramov extended his warm wishes to the university’s faculty, administrative staff, and student community, expressing hope that Novruz will bring renewed unity and solidarity to all.
Following the opening remarks, the celebration continued with a vibrant artistic program. Students of Karabakh University took the stage with performances showcasing traditional Azerbaijani dances, scenes reflecting Novruz customs and rituals, and musical pieces rooted in national heritage. Faculty members and students also performed beloved folk songs that resonated with the spirit of the holiday.
The festivities concluded with a joyful yalli dance around the ceremonial Novruz bonfire, symbolizing renewal, togetherness, and the triumph of light over darkness.
