September 20, 2024

President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of the newly renovated student dormitory at Karabakh University in Khankendi on September 20.
During the event, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev and Karabakh University Rector Shahin Bayramov briefed the President on the completed renovation works and the new facilities.
The dormitory, designed to accommodate 1,154 students free of charge, features five apartment-style buildings, all renovated to meet modern standards. Each unit is fully equipped with contemporary furnishings, and the living spaces have been tailored to reflect a modern campus lifestyle. The dormitory also offers recreational areas, a dining hall, and sports facilities to ensure a comfortable and engaging environment for students.
In addition to student housing, the campus includes four residential buildings for university staff and their families, comprising a total of 186 apartments. The apartments, like the dormitories, have been fully renovated and equipped with essential amenities. To date, approximately 140 staff members and their families have been accommodated, with housing provided free of charge for the duration of their employment at the university.
This significant development underscores Karabakh University’s commitment to creating a world-class educational and living environment, reflecting the broader efforts to rebuild and modernize the region.
